I am very excited to be playing a role in helping support the students of Shahala Middle School as they grow academically, behaviorally, and socially. I have worked within Evergreen Public Schools for 10 years and look forward to many more years of working with students and families. As a school counselor, my goal is to help students learn to successfully navigate obstacles and to create opportunities as they set their course to realizing their dreams.

Visit me in Room 315 on Thursdays
Hi, I’m Mrs. Shaw--your Career Guidance Specialist here at Shahala!
I was born and raised in Vancouver, WA and attended K-12 here in EPS. I adored and valued the guidance my teachers & coaches provided throughout my K-12 journey and was inspired by them to eventually pursue a career in education. After graduating from college at WSU Vancouver, and exploring jobs in other industries, I found myself yearning for a job in education. In 2017, I had an opportunity to join EPS supporting the Career Center at Evergreen High School. In the fall of 2018, I began serving students as a Middle School Career Guidance Specialist at Shahala, Cascade, and Wy’east where I’m proud to still serve today!
Guiding students through the process of self-discovery and future exploration brings me so much joy. I’d love to help you explore your future goals and plans further! You can find me in Room 315 on Thursdays or reach out anytime via email. You can also check out the additional resources below.
Outside of the school day, I enjoy spending time with family, attending my children’s sporting events and various activities, eating too many chips and salsa at our go-to restaurant, camping along the Oregon coast, caring for our house plants and vegetable garden, getting lost in a new Netflix series, or enjoying our backyard fire pit!
