Dear 8th grade Parents/Guardians,
During the week of February 12-16, 8th grade students will begin selecting their core high school classes (English, History, Math & Science) with their respective teachers. This process is called Forecasting. Students will pick their remaining elective classes when high school counselors visit our science classrooms the week of March 4.
Please make sure your student comes to school each day (Feb 12-16) with a charged Chromebook so they can choose the classes they wish to take next year! An email with additional forecasting information was sent to families on Monday, February 5th.

Ready Washington coalition participants use communications practices that honor, amplify, and learn from the lived expertise of students and families, particularly those who experience systemic injustice. The coalition commits to acting together to confront systems of racism that affect our students and ourselves. Through storytelling and relationship building with coalition members, students, families, and educators, Ready Washington illuminates the brilliance of students, contributing to a system that supports every student – in particular, students who identify with Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and racially diverse communities–to graduate high school with the skills and knowledge needed to successfully navigate postsecondary education and training and pursue rewarding careers.
